Poynting XPOL-24 4x4 MIMO Directional 5G Antenna
The Poynting XPOL-24 is an outdoor panel antenna with four cellular elements in one weatherproof housing. You point it at the nearest tower, run its four 5 m cables indoors, and connect them to the four cellular ports on a 4x4 MIMO 5G router.
It's meant for fixed sites where the router has to stay inside and the signal there is weak, such as a rural house, a farm office, a shop with metal walls, or a cabin at the end of a long road. It's directional, so it works best when you know which way the tower is. If you're not sure, call us before you order and we'll help you check.
Routers it works with
This version (SKU A-XPOL-0024-V1-01) comes with four 5 m low-loss cables already attached, each ending in an SMA male plug. Those plug straight into the SMA cellular ports on the routers we sell. The Peplink MAX BR1 Pro 5G, Peplink B One 5G, and GL.iNet Spitz AX each have four cellular antenna ports, so one XPOL-24 fills all of them. A dual-modem router like the Peplink MAX BR2 Pro 5G needs one antenna per modem.
Bands and gain
The XPOL-24 covers 617 to 960 MHz, 1710 to 2700 MHz, and 3400 to 4200 MHz. That range includes the 600 MHz and 2.5 GHz bands used for 5G on our T-Mobile-based plans. Gain peaks at 8.5 dBi in the low and mid bands and 11 dBi from 3.4 to 4.2 GHz, before cable loss. Two of the elements are vertical and horizontal and the other two sit at plus and minus 45 degrees, which gives a 4x4 router four separate signal paths from one housing.
Mounting it
The included bracket mounts to a pole with U-bolts or to a wall with screws. The housing is UV-stable ASA plastic rated IP65, works from -40 to 80 °C (-40 to 176 °F), and is rated for winds up to 160 km/h (about 100 mph). Each meter of cable costs a little signal (0.39 dB at 900 MHz up to 0.79 dB at 3 GHz), so pick a spot the 5 m cables can reach without extensions.
